Two companies of the SOGAZ Insurance Group have concluded a contract to provide medical insurance for employees of OJSC Priargunskoye Mining and Chemical Production Association (Chita region). The medical insurance company Gazprommedstrakhand the insurance company OJSC SOGAZ concluded contracts with the enterprise to provide compulsory medical insurance and voluntary medical insurance respectively. The total number of policyholders for each contract stands at more than 12,000 people. Priargunskoye Mining and Chemical Production Association employees will enjoy a range of insurance benefits provided by the SOGAZ Insurance Group.

The Priargunskoye Mining and Chemical Production Association is part of the TVEL Corporation and is one of the largest uranium enriching enterprises in the world (and the biggest plant in Russia). Itisalsothelargestmulti-branch miningcompanyintheChita region, producing roughly three thousand tonnes of uranium annually.

The TVEL Corporationisa major holdingcompany of theFederalAtomicEnergyAgency, andisaworldleaderinnuclearfuel production; thereare 73 TVEL nuclearpowerreactors (accounting for 17% of the world market) and 30 research reactors, operating in 13 countries throughout the world. The corporation comprises 12 enterprises, all involved in nuclear power production, and an auxiliary infrastructure including all of Russia’s uranium enriching enterprises.

Gazprommedstrakh has bee noperating in theChitaregion since March 2006. In December 2006 the company was declared the winner of the open tender held to select a medical insurance organisation that will implement the compulsory medical insurance (CMI) program for the unemployed population of the municipal entity The Town of Krasnokamensk and the Krasnokamensk district, Chita region. Currently, the company has over 50,000 compulsory medical insurance scheme policyholders in that region.
